Story                      : Travis Beacham

I remember how I was impressed by watching giant robot fights against giant monster like Power Ranger and Ultraman when I was a kid. That was mindblowing experience. Now I have grown up like other normal people, and I will laugh at every kid things in the past. But, for this 'Pacific Rim', I am going back to be a kid again.

Review : V/H/S 2

I am always excited about Indonesian movie maker that his or her film succeeds to go abroad. That makes me proud of and keeps  my hope intact about the future of Indonesian film. The Raid, Don't Talk Love, Lovely Man are good examples of this. Since I watched The Raid, I will always anticipate the next movie that has international scope but includes Indonesian's works. You can call it nationalism haha.
So, V/H/S 2 is  one of my anticipated movie. Yes, the only reason why I wanna see this movie is just want to see 'Safe Haven' segment on it. Safe Haven is the works of collaborated Timo Tjahjanto and Gareth Evans. Timo is a unique and antimainstrem Indonesian director. His good debut is 'Dara' that gives its main lead actrees, Shareffa Danish, won an award from Korean FilmFestival (I'm sorry if I'm mistaken). Timo usually works with his brother,Kimo, but in V/H/S 2 he worked alone. Gareth Evans, well, not an Indonesian director, but we Indonesian movie lovers thanks him so much because his amazing work, The Raid. The Raid is an Indonesian movie even it was directed by British director. Yeah, I feel right about Gareth Evans is British outside, but pure Indonesian inside. Okay, stop talking about this.

Mouly Surya is one of my favourite director since I watched her previous film, ''Fiksi''. "Fiksi" shows me that Mouly has great talent in telling a story. My review before was about Lincoln, a film about a president of U.S.A. who fought against slavery of black people. Now, I am reviewing a film with similar theme, slavery of black people, that is Django Unchained. Same theme, maybe., but absolutely different taste.
Two white people go through a forest riding their each horse. Behind them, some chained black people walk in one line. Django is one of them. He has terrible scars on his back, because of whip. Suddenly a horse-cart comes from opposite direction. That is a German gentleman who rides it. He then stops by. The German man looks for a slave who ever met Brittle Brothers then he asks every slaves there. Finally he is sure that Django is the one he looks for. He wants to buy Django but Django's master refuses to sell. Then in the blink of eyes the German man shoots Django's master. One of the two dies. So then the German man picks Django , and lets the other slaves free.

Lincoln has power on its main character,he is the title itself, Lincoln, the 16th president of U.S. of America. A charismatic leader, who's been a big part of U.S.A.'s history. He was the president who fighted against the discrimination to coloured people in U.S.A. then. At that time, even in liberal country like U.S.A. , coloured people were still in slavery. There were an act about coloured people that stated coloured people is no more than a property that may be sold for money. Since became a president ,Lincoln already made many efforts to end the slavery of coloured people. But, that took the bad consequence. Rebellion arised in south region because of rejection about the equality between white people and coloured people. Lincoln had the solution. He made the amendment 13 that abolish the act about slavery in U.S.A.. And the film focusing on the story how hard Lincoln's effort to make the amendment 13 accepted by the parlemen.

Review : Amour

Genre:
Drama
Official Site:
http://www.amourthemovie.com
Director:
Michael Haneke
Cast:
Jean-Louis Trintignant, Emmanuelle Riva, Isabelle Huppert
Run Time:
127 minutes

Georges and Anne are a couple of retired music teachers. They are in their eighties. One day Anne suddenly has a stroke in. The couple's bond is severely tested.

This film broke my heart, for a moment after watched this movie, I felt the world is empty. This film made me depressed. I rather call Amour as a film than a movie, because I define a movie as an entertaining stuff, but a film will make you depressed.
If you are a popcorn movie lover, I will give this film rate 2 of 10 for you, because I dont get this film entertaining. I am sure that you will fall asleep in first 30 minutes of the duration and wake up when the film already finish. Why did I say that?

Silver Linings Playbook is an American romantic comedy drama film directed by David O.
