Lincoln has power on its main character,he is the title itself, Lincoln, the 16th president of U.S. of America. A charismatic leader, who's been a big part of U.S.A.'s history. He was the president who fighted against the discrimination to coloured people in U.S.A. then. At that time, even in liberal country like U.S.A. , coloured people were still in slavery. There were an act about coloured people that stated coloured people is no more than a property that may be sold for money. Since became a president ,Lincoln already made many efforts to end the slavery of coloured people. But, that took the bad consequence. Rebellion arised in south region because of rejection about the equality between white people and coloured people. Lincoln had the solution. He made the amendment 13 that abolish the act about slavery in U.S.A.. And the film focusing on the story how hard Lincoln's effort to make the amendment 13 accepted by the parlemen.

If Lincoln was born for the freedom of coloured people, then Daniel Day Lewis was born for portraying Lincoln. I assumed that Lincoln's manner is exactly like that Daniel performed on this film. It's true that I do not know much about President Lincoln, but with the reference about how charismatic, loveable, and heartfull Lincoln is, Daniel shows me the right Lincoln. I believe Lincoln is like Daniel's.  Now we talk about the storyline. Here, we're presented about leadership of Lincoln. We can see how charismatic but also unique he is. He has big interest in humour, it proved when he randomly tells a joke in some serious moments. He often looks so calm and self-confident when in crisis. But, in other time,we can catch his earnestness in erasing slavery forever. His anger blown up when his subordinates giving up or the amendments in likehood of coming to grief. In some moments I said to myself,''This is why he is the one and maybe the only one who can be the right president''.
I also apreciate about political drama on this film. Lincoln really did something dangerous to get his idealism comes true. Although he's the president, the amendment must get two-third votes in parlemen for legitimation. The democracy was in blur. The freedom of coloured people was given on vote? And it becomes confusing when you see Lincoln's effort for the amendment. Indistinct of whether black or white..
Actually nothing special on how Steven Spielberg directed this, however I like the humorousness moments and some chessy-but-accepted-heart-touching moments (haha) on this.
Perhaps there are too many characters, so I hardly remember some names and faces. In addition, some conversations are too heavy and unclear. Need a steady mind or otherwise you just end up guessing the story.
